How much do you charge?
My current fee is $0.02 USD per word.
Note: A requested turnaround time of 24 hours or less will incur a 50% rush turnaround fee.
How do I pay you?
I will send you a PayPal invoice with a payment link. I currently accept PayPal, Venmo, and Western Union. I do not accept Barclays or any other money transfer service that requires me to provide bank information. Do not ask me to put my bank account number in an email.
Can you send me a quote?
Absolutely! If you’re not sure how much your project will cost, feel free to email me. Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Please note, however, that if you tell me your document has 1,000 words but send me a 15,000-word document, you will be charged for 15,000 words.
What’s your turnaround time?
Usually 1-2 days, depending on the length and complexity of your document. If you’re in a real rush, email me anyway and I’ll let you know if I can get your document back in time.
I can generally meet requested deadlines, but will accept or reject on a case-by-case basis. As a side note, I am located in the U.S. EST time zone. Please keep that in mind when requesting specific turnaround times.
NOTE: I do not work during U.S. Federal holidays.
Do you edit pdfs?
No. I will only edit Microsoft Word documents (.doc or .docx).
Can you write me a letter certifying that my document has been edited?
Yes. Certification letters are included at no extra cost.
Do you provide free samples?
No.
Can I get a discount?
No. I am not a large company. I am an independent freelancer with bills to pay, and I will not accept anything less than my stated fee.
NOTE: This may change if you bring back a manuscript I have already edited. If you need me to re-edit the entire document, you will be charged the normal fee. If you only need me to edit selected parts of the document, you will be charged only for those parts.
Why you?
Good question. (1) I know English inside and out; (2) My clients come from all over the world, so I’m calibrated to non-native English speakers; and (3) I’ve gotten people A’s.
I thought you were a graphic designer.
Very true, but I started as a technical editor. I made this site because my design portfolio was causing some confusion. If you’re not sure about my editing experience, head over to my LinkedIn.
